Welcome to the Autumn Term 2009 in Year 2!

The new year has got off to a flying start in Year 2!  We have all had a lovely summer and we are now ready to work hard and learn lots of new things!

We began the term with a History topic learning about The Great Fire of London.  Everybody enjoyed the topic and learned a lot about life 300 years ago!

Nicholas and Tyler built London in Golden time! Then watched as they destroyed it with paper fire!!!

This term we are learning:

History - The Great Fire of London

Science - Changing materials/Using electricity

DT - Puppets/Winding up

Geography - Barnaby Bear

Music - Exploring pitch

PE - Dance, Gym and Games

ICT - Writing stories/Finding information

RE - Stories

Each year pupils find it very enjoyable to use websites we use in school at home to extend their learning.  If your child would like to use the internet to practise skills we are learning in school, then the following websites will be useful:

www.bbc.co.ok/schools/ks1bitesize (for Maths and English practise)

www. multiplication.com (to practise the 2, 5 and 10 times tables)

www.museumoflondon.org.uk (link to Great Fire of London game)

Have fun and enjoy!!!!
